The First Chapter 1.2
“…while a call from a soul can be heard even by the deaf."
I heard the mass last Sunday. It was actually a special advent celebration. At one point, the choir was singing joyously but it seemed that the crowd was not participating. I wasn’t – possibly because most of us weren’t familiar with the tune or the song.
But I noticed a group of people singing in silence. Yes, you read it correctly – singing in silence.
They are the physically challenged people who can’t speak nor hear so they had to use their hands to communicate.
Their hearts were singing gloriously through the wisp of their hands and the flick of their fingers.
This is the first time that I heard a quiet choir joyously singing on top of their inner voices. Not even the lack of sound would prevent them from shouting out with joy.
The rhythm was beautiful.
