A Mystical Prayer

This is the first time that I am about to share a mystical dream I had almost 9 years ago. Oftentimes, it would bug me when I’m spiritually shaken but may be it’s not just about how I feel about it. May be somehow, by sharing, it would also help somebody during their dark times – the Gethsemane moments of our lives. Here goes…

I was walking on a dirt road and a tall, lean-built man wearing a long, white vest was walking with me. He had a beard, brown wavy hair and his face was thinner than I imagined it would be. He was discussing something that I could not recall. It felt very casual. And

yes, the person you think was with me, is the same one I believe was really with me in this dream.

He suddenly led me in front of a very wide wooden door. It looked very ancient yet splendid. He opened it and lo, there was a beautiful garden. He sort of read on a piece of scroll all the flowers that was planted in that garden. I was so delighted to partake in such a serene, mystical garden. I couldn’t stop touching the flowers and getting amazed.

Until, we stopped on top of a hilltop with a tree and a little bench. With such overwhelming happiness, I suddenly felt a pang in my heart. I knew what garden it was. I knew why we were there.

Jesus said, ‘Let us pray.’ and the dream ended.

I almost lost my appetite in my prayer life early this year. It was foolish of me. For in the moments of indecision, confusion or crossroads, that’s the best time to kneel and pray as what was taught to us early on. This dream has always been my reminder of that. Whether it is short or long, He is willing to pray with those who mean it. I hope we get the chance to pray with Him. It is not for Himself but for our sake.
